Health coaching & natural weight loss services Boulder County, including: Longmont, Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette, Niwot & beyond...
Each of us is the sum of our experiences in life and every one of us is different, which is why I believe there is no "one size fits all" approach when it comes to health coaching and wellness programs. My secret lies in using a unique approach by combining many of the best strategies from nutrition science and eating psychology and focusing on what is right for your body and personal lifestyle.
I do away with the (oftentimes contradictory) "should's" and "shouldn't's" that are typically seen in many health and/or weight loss programs and, instead, utilize challenges as growth opportunities and self-improvement as opposed to viewing them as an enemy.
My strengths in professional health coaching can be found in the areas described below.

"What is health coaching and should I try it?" This question comes up a lot and, while I might be biased, there is increasing evidence that hiring a health coach can drastically improve your health and well-being. With the not-so-small benefits (weight loss, accountability, stress management, mental health, and more!) that come with working a health coach, it is becoming more and more clear that a health coach is a viable and sustainable way to reach your health goals.
If you're someone who has ever been caught in this vicious cycle, binge eating and emotional eating can take a serious toll on a person's mental and emotional health,. However, there are real, lasting solutions that can help. When I work with clients on how to stop binge eating, I do not use a stringent, "just do it" diet plan. Instead, I have my clients employ techniques that engage their parasympathetic nervous system (also known as the "rest and digest" mode), thereby allowing for self-awareness and satisfaction when it comes to eating. Your relationship with food and your body will transform from one of resistance to enjoyment.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: when it comes to weight loss, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Weight loss is complex and it is unique to each individual. There are so many contributing factors when it comes to losing weight and, contrary to mainstream belief, it begins with losing our own harsh self-criticism and judgment and moves to bringing in awareness by listening to the innate wisdom our body is desperately trying to communicate to us. By doing this, we usher in the radically new experience of self-love and sustainable, natural weight loss. If you're done with the roller coaster of yo-yo dieting and are ready to embark on a journey of lasting, positive change I can absolutely (and would be honored to) help you with your goals.
When it comes to body image, the prevailing thought process is typically "If I change my body, then I will be able to love it." It makes some amount of sense but, unfortunately, it oftentimes doesn't work because it doesn't really address the underlying issue at play. The question is this: who benefits by your continued battle with your body image? It's certainly not you. Has it ever really worked to hate yourself into a place of love and acceptance? I'm guessing it hasn't. Your body is not a problem, it doesn't need fixing in order for you to be lovable or accepted. My unique approach to changing your image of your body doesn't start with changing your body, but with changing your mind.
Along with the obvious benefit of physical health, with increasing evidence of the positive correlation between physical activity and heightened positive mental health there is no better time to begin a fitness program that works for you, specifically. My approach to personal training and fitness is not to use exercise as a punishment, but to tap into the pleasure of our body's movement. I work with each of my clients to find an exercise program that takes into account each person's unique life experiences as well as their health goals.
You're drinking enough water and getting enough sleep but do you still find yourself asking "why am I so tired?" This is a refrain I have heard from so many of my clients and I want to tell you that the reasons for your fatigue may not be from what you think it is. By taking an in-depth look at what may be causing you to feel fatigued we will come up with solutions to help you regain energy in your life, together.
The first step in your health journey is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about your goals.
